Gents / Ladies,

I see that I have over 200 views but no comments, perhaps because my post doesn't ask for feedback. So here it goes...

I am truly excited about my site development. This is truly a passion of mine and as much as I tailor to what I like, I'd like to know what YOU like! Some things are just not feasible due to the fact that I am building this site with my lunch money. Regardless, I would love to hear some of your suggestions.

I heard a voice say, "If you build it, they will come." Home to see you there!

My best,

Paul S

Great site... just the beginning. What was Shot on RED and what wasn't? A notation would be a nice luxury.

Thanks Mike. I am working preserving the aspect ratios within the thumbnails. Eventually users will be able to generate their own thumbnails as well.

seems like the aspect ratios of your thumbnails under your watch tab are squished....

I really welcome initiatives like this, but if you want this site to be a "RED Screening room" and somewhere where people return to on a regular basis then you should be very specific about what kind of footage you allow on the site. People will keep returning to your site if they know that they can trust your site to always have just the kind of content they're looking for... If you want us to go there for RED footage then please make sure there's only RED footage on there - no 8mm and no Canon XH-A1 etc. Some kind of minimum requirement in terms of quality would be nice too - though I know that's hard to deal with when the site is updated by users from many different sources (youtube, vimeo etc.).

If possible - please tighten up on the design/interface. It's pretty "floppy" right now - as in all over the place.

Tony,

You are absolutely correct. I am going to remove anything that is NOT shot on Red products - it was all uploaded by myself just to get some content temporarily . I am working on getting the best quality uploads from users and working on the design interface as well.

Thank you for your thoughts! Much appreciated!

Uploading / embedding

Uploading / embedding

Hey guys,

I have included some detailed instructions for compressing / embedding your work to sKarlets to ensure a quality standard. You'll find it in the Help section on the site. I hope to see more of you sign up and start uploading some footage soon!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Man there's nothing like a turkey with lettuce, tomato, and LOTS of mayo on some Italian bread (salt / pepper) the day after!

My best,

Paul

Footage

Footage

Hey guys,

Just an update: I have made some significant progress with sKarlets and will be moving to my new host soon! This will improve video playback / quality substantially also allowing for bigger file size uploads! The other parts of the site are being built right now and there will be LOTS of goodies coming soon! Please sign up and upload your footage to help start building the community.

My best,

Paul

Feedback

Feedback

Hey,

I'd love some feedback. Mainly if you like the direction sKarlets is going in and if you see yourself participating. Not fishing for compliments here so lay it on me.

How about being able to view a few different viewing sizes like exposureroom.com has. It would be nice also if the site dimmed while watching the clips.

I am in the process of migrating to another server which will enable me to unlock the fixed player size. When all is said and done, users will be able to upload 720p and VwwwwLLLAAAAA!:construction: I am working hard. I'd love to see some people sign up and create a username/password. The support keeps me going and it's reassuring that a community is growing. Thanks All!
