Hi!
I searched out in forum, but didnt find anything about that.
Right now we are shooting on Red(with data pins already) with Cooke s4/i(not red cooke, ordinary cine with T2), on built 17, and i cant find or understand, were is information about lens? In manual is written(see pic.), i checked it, also in remote menu, but no lens data is displayed, or it doesnt work with cine cooke s4/i?

Also, i found out a strange thing about Ultra Prime, Zeiss High Speed and Cooke too, lenses in range from ~40-50mm (it depends like, is it a cooke set, or UP) focus is good, like focus marks are on its place, but going wider or tighter focus goes away +- 5cm(all lenses were checked on lens test bench and they were good!). And it is not only on our red, and not only with our lenses, but it was seen on some others red in ukraine, with another PL lenses. So, i just wonder, wtf  ? Is it normal or what, i just dont get it. Or i do something wrong?
I would be very thank full if i had and answer.
Thank you very much!

By the way, sorry about my broken english, i try my best. :)

Enable /i interface information in the preferences menu if I remember right. If successful you'll see three numbers at the top of the viewfinder/LCD.

in regards to the focus issue, isnt that just because you havnt set the backfocus correctly?

untighten the screws on the "backfocus ring"

put on a wide angle lens (15mm for instance) and aim at a siemens star chart and check if focus matches focus marks. This has to be done with a wide angle lens.

douglas underdahl shows it in his "nikon mount change" film on youtube- part2

best,

Sidney

If you're absolutely sure your back-focus is spot-on (do a search on these forums to find out how to do it reliably), then check out your lenses asap on a lens projector at various distances. I recently experienced quite a few Ultra Primes and Cooke S4s going gradually off focus at further distances (at first I thought I was going mad or the lens projector was on the blink, but essentially I think the lenses needed a good servicing). Really it's one of your duties on a feature to check these things yourself before filming, rejecting any lens that isn't bang on at all distances (I wouldn't take anyone else's word for it if I were you - you have to see it with your own eyes).

thats why im asking about lenses, because i check them. but strange is, that on film cameras(435X, moviecam, even on 16mm cameras) they focusing good! but on red i have this problem. i will do researches, but if someone have any more suggestions, you could help me very much. ;)
thanks.

I also can not seem to get S4/i information to display. Remote is turned on as well as display lens data. Any suggestions? Currently using B17.

take off the lens ..then push in pin #4 ( red body) and make sure it comes out all the way ( if it doesn't very gently push in a few times ..if it doesn't pop out then very very gently pull it out a little so it is even with other pins ...you might as well make sure the others are spring loaded and working too )
