I shot a red test a week ago. Shot in Rec 709, colored in camera. Did not go through red alert (yet). Used the proxy 2k file. What do you think of the footage? Feedback please and thank you!

Whenever I work with proxies I feel that the picture is good enough for broadcast. Then I do the RedCine trip and render the 2K files (ProRes HQ) and am just amazed at the difference. Just mumbling.

What was your shutter set at?

I don't know if it's my monitor, but it seemed too dark. I know that's the intent, but I thought some of the dark areas should have some barely seen detail at least. And the shadows seemed muddy dark. But maybe it was my monitor. Could be the gamma?

I hate the fact that footage looks different from monitor to monitor.

It does look dark in the content but the detail is there. I made the look in camera. I should post the raw footage as well to show the difference. I'll let you know when it is up.
