Hey there,

Going on a location recce later this morning and wanted to use my Canon 350D (rebel XT) to test focal lengths.

Does anyone have any advice on how the cropped Canon sensor relates to RED in 4k?

Even a "slightly larger, much smaller" would get me in the right direction.

Just need to kill some seats in a theater and have to decide how close to stage to get.

This will be both with various Nikons and the Red 18-50.

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Cheers,

Jim

I use my Canon 40D as a test imager all the time. Almost 4K across (3888x2592) and with the Ef-D grid glass the horizontal lines come really close to replicating CinemaScope 2.39:1 ratio for perfect framing (my favourite ratio).

Plus now with the Birger mount I can use literally the same lens with the same FoV :)

HTH
