Interesting, but of course it's impossible to judge compression issues on a compressed vid.

BTW, I spoke with Canon this morning and the guy told me the 5DII's shipment date has been pushed back to "early December."

Hi Tom,

They were waiting for Jim's announcement on the 13th, in case they had to impliment any last minute changes.

So was Sony. But the only changes Sony execs needed to implement after the announcement was a change of their underwear. hmy:

Hi Tom,

Don't be so sure, a raw workflow is not for everybody. You underestimate of money to be made out of broadcast television.

Makes me want to get the lenses, not the camera. Love the shallow dof. i preferred the stills to the motion. looked like video to me.

[Charles Angus]

Badly over-sharpened.

[David Rasberry]

The Canon Mpeg encode is not so hot. Works OK for web video, but doesn't hold up well on anything larger than a desktop screen.

[Joe G.]

Looks like video to me. I don't think it would hold up well on the big screen. The higher quality of the stills sort of betrays the look of the moving images.

Hi Stephen,

I should have said "Sony Cine Alta execs" had to implement the wardrobe recovery plan.

Impossible to judge out of this lowres clips.

Jonas, I will be posting some unaltered 1080p clips here the minute I get my filthy paws on this camera.

[Jonas Nyström]

Okidoki. Nikon has a lot of Scew and things. But I'm a Canon fan, I think they handle motion images better!
