I never thought I'd be posting this thread and I feel like a used jewelry store owner, but here goes anyways:
if you have to sell your R1, and want a sale without hassles, these are my considerations:
The camera should be:
1. fully functioning and not scratched beyond belief
2. be on the latest release build
3. have the CF module

My line: 12 thousand dollars. I know, it ain't what it once was, this used camera value, but neither is the economy. If i'm going to make films independantly, i've got to have a cap on my budget as well. I've got a red on order btw, but if someone needs to move fast to avoid additional stresses, i'm looking to make films.
Accessories: I'm still looking for a few, and these can be negotiated separately.

I can promise this: I will not turn around and flip this camera. I don't play the stock market, and I don't buy for speculation. The camera will go into production on independant and art films and be used as per intention: to make change.
"When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro"
Good luck to all. These are strange times indeed. Over and out.

You gotta admire a post like this. . . and good luck, indeed.

big BRASS ones this guy....but if you gott 'em flaunt 'em

Well you could get lucky... I personally think the used price should be around 15k for body only due to warranty issues and being used. If REDs start going for 12k... I'M BUYING.

Do you take my stepmother on top?
If YES I have to think, please reply

Only new cameras shipping have the upgraded board so maybe those folks not ready to take a loss so quick? Perhaps you will have better luck accepting any RED1 at the moment...best of luck.

well shoot, if it's going to be priceline day, if anyone wants to sell an evf I have $1000 I can paypal you right now.

i want to get on the unrealistic shopping list too! does anyone want to sell me a RED 18-85 for $6,000?

I don't think you have realistic expectations. Red One is sought after camera and many people would pay the offered amount for it without hesitation and resell with a profit (or keep or/and exchange for Epic). I think you will be very lucky if you can get one for $18k - the purchase price including CF reader. They mostly go at a premium and most people would be selling the whole package that they bought, not just body with CF reader.

If you have a use for Red One the best way forward is to buy it at the "market price" wherever that may be (Red, second hand, eBay, etc..), unless your main goal is to trade cameras and make profit on the purchase/sell margin. There is nothing wrong with that, but you need to ask yourself if you want to be a film maker or whether you want to be a camera trader.

Pawel, I think I made it explicitly clear in my original post that I would not be reselling the camera for profit. I'm not a camera trader.

Things have changed here in the last few days. This offer is still open, although I should state that I am flexible, as per several posters suggestions. The camera doesn't need to have the updated audio board etc. etc.

well if we're bumping, in the spirit of this post, I reiterate my offer for $1000 cash for an evf.

actually maxwax, the evf will retain much more of its value relative to a RedOne because it can be used with epic and scarlet in the future....also, if we use your math skills and apply the ratio as you have, I'd be offering six thousand wouldn't I?
Smarten up a little before being a smartass....
