What alternatives lenses are available to a Red 50 - 150 zoom. I need a lens of this sort of length and light weight shortly but the Red lens is unavailable to supply. Any reports about the Red 50 150 would be of interest.

It really needs to be PL. The only stills lens that may be suitable is a canon 35mm 105mm f/3.5 that may be able to be converted to use as a light weight zoom.

All ideas welcome.

thanks,

Deane... it has been proven that the Red 50-150 is not a re-housed sigma. It has two extra lens elements and their movement is quite different than the sigma's, The coatings are different too.

=D

Reviews seem to rate the Sigma lenses quite well. How good opticaly are they for our work ?

working on re- housing 3 lenses currently nikkor 70-200 f2.8,14-24 f2.8,24-70 f2.8....
but i,m still not convinced that 50-150 red lenses has not got some sigma deep under the bonnet
Anyway when i'm finished i'll post some pictures for my fellow RED teammates

Sound great. Please update us when you can. I have a couple of macros away for remounting. Ill let you know how this goes also.
