Hi all,

I've been trying to remote desktop via the logmein program to export frames from REDCINE, but have run into a big problem. REDCINE opens on the system that I remote into, but comes up all black rendering it useless. If I run the task manager, I can see RECINE running just fine but as soon as I alt-tab back to it, the screen goes black again.

All systems are Vista64, 4-6 gig of ram and nvidia cards with latest drivers.
REDCINE version 3.1.5

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Matt

Hey kinobairn,

Well long story short, I cannot do that. The machines that I am trying to log into to run REDCINE are running Windows Home Premium (64 bit). Home Premium doesn't allow remote desktop logins... Go figure.

I have how ever logged in other Vista Ultimate machines and have run into issues as well. The screen for REDCINE is all garbled. I'll post a screen cap later today of the remote desktop issue.

Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Well, even on a mac running redcine over logmein is far from ok, Redcine doesn't refresh itself unless you change the color options, as soon as you click on B&W or a different color mode, it forces a refresh of the screen, but that's about it, quite strange.

Hey kinobairn,

I've attached a cap of a remote desktop session that I tried.

I also when using logmein, I tried to even blank the screen and nothing. Is there a way to run REDCINE windowed rather than fullscreen? This might help.

Thanks again.

It's because REDCINE uses OpenGL Overlay, which most remote desktop softwares hate.

Try Crossloop. www.crossloop.com

It works with REDCINE and SCRATCH. You will obviously get very poor refresh rate on playback, but it will allow you to see the image.

Well Lucas,

CrossLoop didn't work for me here. Just got a black screen....

I liked the potential of CrossLoop, but was a pain to get systems just talking to eachother.

The hunt goes on....

Thanks again

It may be somethingh specific to your system - I use Crossloop several times a week with both REDCINE and SCRATCH and it works. ??

Teambuilder also works...
