  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Problems downloading B17??

Anyone else experiencing problems downloading B17?

I've tried 3 times on our Mac Pro (latest os), and every unzip util I try keeps telling me it's a partial zip and/or corrupt (including command line unzip -j in terminal).

Really up for getting up to B17 in between projects, but no joy if I can't open the zip file!!

Yeah I got he same problem. Apparently its not downloading the whole file. Download completes but file is only 4.6MB and its suposed to be 7.1MB. Tried many times but same thing. Same problem with build 16 download too.
 
I downloaded today and have it installed already. I didn't need to unzip the file it happened automatically. I just had to copy the upgrade file to a CF card. The read me file says ' Do NOT decompress the ” redone.su ” file, the camera will perform that task' if you are trying to unzip that...
 
Today it is downloading and unzipping just fine:glare: . Problem with the site yesterday I guess:matrix: .
 
Today it seems that B17 is in RELEASE status on the support site.... but no announcement here..... nice....
 
it was in release state yesterday... but I suspect everyone is really really busy preparing for tomorrow... anyway i think the support page is the right place for it. If I had realised it should be posted by a user here I would have done it - is that the done thing?
 
Nope, support site is the correct place. For some reason best known to themselves (although I guess it may be to guard against people field-updating the firmware on rental cameras) the firmwares are password protected to owners only, so I think it would be very much a bad idea to post them publicly here...

I think Rainer was simply complaining that no announcement had been made that B17 had gone out of beta. I got an email saying there was a new release of B17, but it didn't (obviously, at any rate) state that it was release. Skim-read it though, so that could be total b*llocks!
 
Yes, I usually post on REDUSER when a new version of firmware (or software) is available. I believe they were doing some updates to REDUSER servers when I posted that firmware to release version so I was not able to post right away. Sorry for not doing that at a later time, Rainer.

However, everyone who has a RED ONE invoiced under their account gets an email announcing these releases. Or, if s person has authorized another user on their account, they would also get that email. And, yes, the emails states that Build 17 v3.4.1 was the latest release version of firmware.
