I'm going to shoot a feature next week, until now I used build16 with no problems. is it safe to upgarde to build17?
Glik.

Absolutely. After all, it's a release build... And you really don't want to miss some of those great new features.

RedCine and Log and Transfer haven't been updated yet. I would wait until they are operational before upgrading.

It appears that REdCine, REDAlert and log and transfer are in build 17 beta...anyone have any problems with this software?

They are all in Beta - and have been since they were released as far as I know. No one appears to be having any MORE trouble with them than they were under 16. In other words, RED Cine is still a lottery... RED Rushes is a good route still, as is Rubber Monkey.

It's funny, and I guess it just goes to show the different experiences you can have with Red post, but Red Cine (if you handle it right, and don't overload it with clips) has been dependable. Red Rushes has, seriously, never worked for me.

I haven't run into any problems using B17, RedAlert, Redcine, Crimson or Clipfinder. But then, we haven't had the time to test too much... As always: do your own tests with the soft- and hardware you plan to use, being available now. If it works, go for 17. If not, stay in 16-land and feel comfortable.

I just did a shoot with build 17 and I found my camera hanging at bootup more than it usually did. Could be unrelated. I also had my first rocketio playback failure. It happened a couple of times but I was able to get the clip to play back after a few tries.

We've been shooting B17 for a few days, and we've been noticeing that the camera will randomly switch from Redspace, which we like, to rec709, or RAW, which we don't want to look at all the time.

It mostly happens when we power down, but I think it happened a few times without.

When you switch the color space back to Redspace, problem is solved until it switches back. Haven't tried to reinstall yet.

Anyone else have this problem?

Yeah I noticed this (going from Redspace to RAW), but I thoght I had simply pushed the wrong button. Will pay attention to this from now on...

Just upgraded to the release build of 17 - BLK Shade...

"Calibration Failed."

"Not quite sure what you should do."

Great message...

EDIT: Operator error, wanted a record path...
