  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Wallander shoots 2 * Red in Sweden

Yup - they are located right here in Copenhagen (Denmark). Actually they're only a 5-minute walk away from here. I know these guys and they make beautiful, well-crafted stuff.

OK, I've had the Element Technica shoulder mount for 2 days now, I'm using it with a RED, which it was designed for, but it could be used with any camera.

are they shipping the shoulder mount?

sounds great, i have had the arri shoulder mount this summer and i made me unhappy ... and my back is still suffering ;-)

regards,
martin

I am in the same boat as Geoff. My shoulders are not ideal for a rig like Red. In my case, bony, injured due to sports, etc. The ET handheld rig does make a huge difference. You are able to configure it for your shoulder. The flexibility of sliding the camera forward and backward on your shoulder, as well as tilting the angle is really great. I agree with Geoff, when they are available, its a smart buy. The ET guys have put a lot of thought into it.

And the V-Dock system is amazing. I have had zero dropped frames (knocking on wood). You will find that in most situations you'd be just as confident shooting with the drive as you are the cards. Although, solid state with no moving parts is the better way going forward. But for now, this is a great solution.

The ugrip would be a nightmare! all that weight extended on your arms :-(

I'll post some stills on Monday, we have a day off then.

We're using a mix of Optimo's, 15-40, 27-76 and 24-290.

The ET drive shock mount can be persuaded to drop frames, 10 * HK sub machine guns at less than 2 mtrs lost us 2 frames, a sawn off shotgun and an Uzi at 3 mtrs lost us 58 frames!

Mounted on a hood mount on a Saab we lost no frames at speeds up to 80Km/Hr above that we lost frames.
