recovering lost data from red drive

Has anyone had any success with recovering lost data on a red drive. Files where playing back fine from camera but when it came to downloading them there was about a third of the footage missing, about 20 clips in all. Also a couple of files were corrupt. The clips missing were random in that the first 20 clips were good then the next 10 missing then some more good ones and then more missing. The drive is being looked at by a company that specializes in data recovery but was wondering if anyone else had a similar problem and what was the outcome.

i have not had this happen to me (touch wood.......) but this might help or at least let you know that you are not alone
