  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

ANYONE IN NY want to rent me some S4's and some RED accessories????????

Is there anybody in NY that would like to RENT me some Cooke S4's and some RED accessories?

it was very disappointing.

Noah they couldnt help me with what i needed.
I was not looking for anything out of the ordinary.

Sorry Luis, I wouldn't quite qualify it as "shot you down." You asked for items we cannot supply. I don't know how to make that happen for you. You wanted a bunch of RED-specific accessories like a Top Handle extension. Are we supposed to pull that off another package, thereby shortchanging that package? It is one thing if you want a complete kit, but this order would have essentially stripped another kit.

If we don't have it I can't rent it to you. There were a couple of items on your list that I knew we could arrange to get elsewhere so we said that we could supply them. I don't know how to get blood from a stone. We do value your business as well as others but if we can't make it happen then we can't make it happen.
 
Sometimes you just need help, you just really need help.

I am in the LA market that's just what i know. I am sorry I am not familiar with the NY market.
Here its not unrealistic to place an order for what is included in my list and be able to get it.

I was asking for specific parts yes I don't wish to take apart your packages. Sorry.

I am just looking for a place that can get me what we need. They don't even have to carry everything, sub renting is totally cool, but to have to run around to various locations for lenses 1 place, filters another place, and RED accessories 3 place is what i am looking to avoid.

I totally believe Able values there clients no doubt.

You guys have been helpful but its a serious challenge to have to go to various locations.
1 guy has 1 thing but another does not so on and so fourth.

Maybe i am asking for too much.

S4 lenses,
Filters, FF set up, sticks the normal stuff.
A monitor
Some RED accessories
wireless IDX stuff
Its not a huge package request by any stretch.

One of the crew members is donating his RED camera and batteries doing us a huge favor, just to pull this off.

In LA if anybody ever needs such a thing.
You just go to Indie Rentals they don't care what you ask for.
No order is too small or too big they are totally on point.
If they dont have it they get it for you.
I get nothing from saying that Its just the truth.

I was looking for a place like that in NY.

But you guys have been helpful from the start thank you Mark

Our Rental Manager Alex, was trying to finish up a quote for you tonight. If he didn't get a chance tonight then I will work something up for you in the morning. What are your shoot dates? I will check in the morning to see if your quote has been finished. We should be able to do this job for you depending on the shoot dates. No job is too small.

I'm sure that Off Hollywood & Abel could work together to provide you the gear you need, and you'd be welcome to checkout everything in our facility. It's possible that we could see about asking OffHollywood to sub us some of the gear ou requested, but I have to tell you, I find it hard to ask someone to subrent me Element Technica handle risers. It's a bit like asking someone to remove the hubcaps from their car to let me use.

I'm glad that someone let you use his camera kit for free. But how free is it when you have to rent all these extra bits? It would be far easier to rent a proper, complete kit Perhaps cheaper as well.

I'm out of town tomorrow on a business trip, but I'm back around on Friday. Let me know how I can help. Feel free to email me privately.

as far as RED accessories & ET stuff - we have a pretty significant inventory - so ... if you are in a pinch and need a few items (like ET handle risers, etc.) just call our office and ask for AJ or myself.

Luis, I'd like to recommend talking to Bill Meurer at Birns & Sawyer. He's the nicest person I've met in this biz and they not only have the S4s and a huge rental fleet, but they also have a great retail store with tons of Red accessories, including our Monstercine line for Red.

Sorry. Just noticed you need to rent in NY.
