  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Mamiya 645 lens mount?

We have a mount to put the Mamiya 645 lenses on the Phantom (not an adapter but a complete mount, sorry). Great glass, but you will just be using the very center of the lens.

One solution is a Mamiya 645 to Nikon adapter, available from Fotodiox (and probably lots of other places).

I have used some medium format lenses on Red, via Nikon adapter, with very good results. Zeiss 180mm in Pentacon Six mount, and some Pentax 67 lenses. There are some bargains to be had here when it comes to telephoto; downside is, there are no wide angle lenses.

Rather not use Nikon adapter

Rather not use Nikon adapter

Thanks, I am hoping that it would be possible to use a mount that is only mechanical and does not have optics. I think the combination of the Mamiya/Nikon to RED uses an extra lens element??

Interesting idea, I started life shooting film photog, and have my RZ Glass which is for 6x7 cm, great glass Mamiya, have everything from the 50mm 1.2, up to a wonderful 500mm at 1.4, would love to use them if anyone has ideas for the larger lenses to adapt down.
