Hello I could not find the more appropriate place for my question/topic.

I am planning for buying a control surface for Apples Color. So far I have to options but I have not worked with neither of them so I am looking for some professional advice. Two options are:

Tangent Devices CP200-BK & CP200-TS Panels
this 2 panels come in the price that pretty much suits our budget and as I think those are the industry leaders.

JLCooper ECLIPSE CX Integrated Colorist Command Station
this is the other option it is much cheaper but I have heard some people complaining about the rotary knobs.
The price of JL cooper is better for me, I just need to know if it will do the same thing as tangent.
Any advice will be much appreciated. :)

Plus if anyone know if any of those will work with Autodesk Lustre. I know Autodesk sells their own surfaces but if I want to grade with something better then Color can I still use them.

Im in front of a Tangent CP100 right now and its great, its the big brother of the CP200. Th CP200 series is also very good and the operators here speak highly of it. I dont know the JL Coper first hand.

Color, its works very well. Graeme Nattress has some very useful effects plugs ins for it. Most of the additional effects work Such as Saphire filters and so on are done in FCP or After Effects, some time s Shake also.

I love JL price but will not buy one, Its just not there in the quality you need for a controller.
Tangent is the way to go.

Biba what do you think?
should I go with tangent or JL cooper, I guess if there is not that much of a difference in price I will just go with the Tangent , at least it looks better esthetically. :D

Just to let you know that lustre also uses the Tanget cp100, Lustre 2009 has quiet sleek/sexy new controllers.
Tanget cp 200 series are much cheaper than the cp100. Also with the cp200 you can build the panels over a period. It's not just one unit. Tanget Wave should be out soon (for those on a tight budget)
JL Cooper ECLIPSE CX does the job well, again they are not Tanget.

I wanted the Tangent Wave but got tired of waiting for it. I ended up with the JL Cooper MCS-Spectrum with IP interface for use with SCRATCH.

I don't have any experience with the CP100 or CP200, so I don't know what I am missing. That's probably a good thing. :) I have been happy with the JL Cooper, though its only been a couple of weeks.

I've seen it and used it briefly (@ IBC in the Scratch booth)

It really is a surprisingly nice panel.
My guess is that that is the exact problem :)
