Autosync sound BWF with video by TC

We shoded on red, but our sound is recorded separetely, we use locket boxes for sinchronising our cameras with timecode generated by AATON mixer. Now i have to synchronise my proxies wth sound for editing.
May be someone knows how to syncronise it automatically by timecode in FCP?

Use the "merge clips..." command to sync by timecode.
It's under the "modify" menu.
Select the video clip, command select the audio clip, then merge clips.
You'll probably have to do them one at a time.

Does this affect post sound production since merging clips deletes the file name for the audio?

you could also use http://www.spherico.com/filmtools/sequenceLiner/index.html

which just creates new timelines and not merged clips. it's even free! :glare:

You all should be aware when synching whatever video with external sound - using FCP's board means - you should keep those files always within the same project and always keep them online.
XML roundtrips or dragging to another project in most cases will make the files out of sync. If there is camera sound the clips want open anymore.
