These are pretty awesome.

Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Snoop Dogg, Harrison Ford, Julia Roberts, Ben Stiller, Will Smith, Steven Spielberg, Justin Timberlake, along with Sacha Baron Cohen as Borat, Zach Braff, Colin Farrell, Neil Patrick Harris, Scarlett Johansson, Shia LeBeouf, Tobey Maguire, Ryan Reynolds, and Jason Segal, are featured in a second of a series of public service announcements to encourage American youth to vote in partnership with Google, YouTube, Declare Yourself, and MySpace. The non-partisan PSAs, produced by DiCaprios Appian Way, were created to engage and inspire young people to vote and participate in the upcoming election.

WOW!

Steven Spielberg joins our digital REDvolution with that Google project.

Amazing!!!

i liked it more when it sounded more like.. don't vote.. it sounded revolutionay. I dunno.. do you guys think you've got two viable candidate this time around.. I keep hearing a lotta people saying none of em is good enough.

Though of the two.. i'd vote for Obama. Democrats.. generally bring economic stability and less wars.

These commercials really are great.
Nice to see Spielberg in them too (I'm a big Spielberg fan).

I appreciate the message (I'm from Belgium, and with all respect to everyone here, almost everyone in Europe is really hoping that America will vote for Obama. Bush really hurt your international reputation, again, with all respect),
but I also think they have great images (simple, yet clean) and editing.
Also nice that they could follow up the great first one, with another angle that's equally interesting and funny (the sarcasm factor and 'the vision of the director').

All in all, great commercial, again!

Hi,

Out of curiosity does anybody think this looks like 35mm film?

Stephen

Supposed to be that is produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and his Appian Way Production that also

will soon make "Akira" and our member Ruairi Robinson will be directing the two-part

epic from a screenplay penned by Gary Whitta.

Maybe that's how RED happened there and also maybe Ruairi would know the right answer on it.

no..
but then again.. its shot with nothing but a white background and compressed to youtube.

but i dont think red looks like film...
it can be closly intercut with film... but RED has its own distinctive look

I don't know about the rest of you hard working Americans, but I don't want a socialized system. Its taking from the hard working and giving to those who choose not to work. America is the land of opportunity, get out and work, then vote!

I like the idea of these ads though. Makes me want to vote for sure.

Wow... someone has been reading their talking points.

I can't even be bothered to begin to say what I really feel about this line of reasoning. Lets just say :ranting2:

typical lib, its death to all conservatives right? Only one way of thinking for you. Ill do what I normally do and bite my tongue. If Bush was so bad how come there was never any talk of impeachment? You have the right to that as well...

Nope, not at all. I'm British and used to vote conservative in the UK.
What I can't stomach is the debilitating polarization of politics in the USA, and ridiculous blanket statements like "Socialism is bad". Taken to its extreme any ideology is bad. Politics is about middle ground, and bi-partisanship, when a country swings to far to one side or the other it suffers.

I dont really like that they tell people to "VOTE!!!" no matter what, regardless of whether the to-be-voter is aware of all the issues. It seems like ill-informed voters could be more harmful than non voters.

I agree with you Ed, mostly. However, re-distribution of wealth (which I currently don't agree is best for the stability of our already fragile economic structure) I feel I cannot pass my vote for a candidate who will possibly be making a lot of the smaller businesses (post-houses/smaller production companies in which a majority of my business comes from) in a larger tax bracket, therefore making it harder than it already is to stay afloat. This means, less work for those of us who depend on it.
Not to mention (here is where I will be attacked :) every time I talk to someone pro-Obama I feel like i should just go out and buy stock in Microsoft, having to be so PC.
Don't get me wrong, I am not being pro-McCain, I dislike both candidates equally. Safe to say, I'll be happy when its all said and done....or will I?

Gee because I definitely wasn't working hard when I was laid off of my job. And the entire 6 months I was jobless, I didn't go to about every place in town filling out applications and still getting nothing. And after I finally got a job, it's not like I bust my ass 40 hours a week and still barely have enough to fill up my gas tank so I can drive an hour away four times a week to learn how the professionals on this forum do what they do.

So your definition of a "hard working American" (usually people who backstab their way to the top 2%) and you're definition of "people who chose not to work" (the people going to every fast food restaurant or department store to just make minimum wage) seems a little flawed to me.

Spielberg and RED is an évènement.

not too long ago I was in the same position as you, it's why I made that comment. That wasn't meant to offend you or anyone else. We are all entitled to opinions and thats what great. This whole thing started because I look at ads like the "don't vote" series and others and realize that all the people in these ads are millionaires who don't care about 3% because they are comfortable regardless what. Im just upset that people like you and I, when and if we do become successful(meaning middle-class), have to pay a price for succeeding. That does not seem right to me. Thats just the opposite of what I was ever taught about the land of opportunity. Just my opinion, I apologize if anyone was hurt by the comment.
