Hey guys,

just shot a new short film on the RED called "The Outlaw Emmett Deemus and the Porno Queen" with the Acadamy Award nominated Larry Hankin. Yes, it's a comedy. :clown2: Cinematography by the award winning DP Ricardo Jacques Gale www.ricardogale.com out of Los Angeles.

Here is a link to the trailer: http://www.enigmafactory.com/emmett.html

Let me know what you think!

Thanks for taking a look! :nuke:

Keep your eye on the prize,
Alex

Great looking trailer, a dirty old man and a porn star, can't go wrong.

But why no dialogue/sound bites/voice in the trailer?? Drives me nuts when I see this, it's a disconnect from the characters, their physical presence lessens, plus I can't imagine the type of vocal performance I'm going to expect, etc...

My two cents... I can't get excited by a story if I can't hear a sample of their voices... how else am I going to know if these actors are going to be decent are not?
Plus its a great way to tell more of the story... All I know now is that there's an old man and a girl, and the old man is a little worse for wear... basically the most surface parts of what the 'soul' of the project might be..
When I hear their voice or some dialogue, I get story, I get a sense of the direction, the writing, the quality of the acting, the depth of the performance... on and on.

Thanks for your thoughts. It was only suppose to be a teaser trailer and meant to get you excited about the project. It's a 6 min short so it's hard to do a full trailer and not give away everything.

Thanks again for your thoughts!

Alex

The footage looks awesome, can't wait to see the final! Keep us posted!

Hey guys,

We just won Best Comedy Short Film at the Melbourne Independent Film Festival!!!

Of course I'm no one important here, but I still like the quality of the images.

:whistling:

Alex, that looks fantastic man. Whenever the short is available let us know. Looks like the cinematography was top notch, and the characters look funny even without dialogue.

Looks great Alex. Glad to see you here.

That reminds me that I can't find my copy of BROKEN. I'd better go digging. :)

Congrats on the festival win. Keep 'em coming.

Best,

J.
