Red 18-50mm front diameter???

I need a screw on ND for my 18-50mm... does anyone know the size???

I think it is 110mm OD but there aren't any threads there. The threads are 72mm and they are located on the front element barrel.

Yes, it can fully retract as long as the outer diameter of your filter is less than or equal to the barrel diameter. The barrel will extend beyond the front of the lens hood with the focal length set to 50mm. This can be a problem if you are using a mattebox with additional filters.

It would not be used with a matte box... Right now I am just trying to strip it down to minimal weight because I am having difficulty acclimating to the moose that it is!!! So, the purpose is to have a ND and a pol for lightweight shoulder, handheld & specialty rig(s) where I do not want a matte box w/ full size filters.
