Hey guys,
I've worked with the Red in one and two camera setups for narrative and music video work with no problems. I have a live 4 camera shoot coming up and the producers want to use the Red. Just wondering if anyone's done anything like this yet and if there are any pros/cons to using the Red for this kind of shoot. Any comments would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Live Red shoot will be challanging...

Remote Iris and Paint controls at one central location is very important for a "live" show.

Remeber the Red camera uses the RAW format, it's best for a post production workflow.

I did a live eight red camera shoot in May. I used pan tilt heads and c motion fiz's. Converted the hdmi to fiber as some of the runs were very long. I think we were using build 14. John Chater put the red packages together.

Best, Peter

I wish RED had the 1080psf output. I wonder why it's P rather than psf....

Pete, more info please.

1080psf is a segmented frame format based on an interlaced system. Essentially, it's 1080p over a 1080i signal. RED is not an interlaced camera, does not create interlaced images, nor does it generate interlaced signals of any form for monitoring.

While 1080psf would increase compatibility amongst many devices out there, it's actually a step backward for the technology and also would require a significant amount more internal processing to get good results.
