We did further tests on this subject, and I can now state clearly that it helps to do a full de-bayering if you are shooting under low light conditions with extended exposure. We observed erraneous white pixels if doing a half de-bayering which completely disappeared after a full de-bayering.

This is completely independent of a new black shading, which helps a bit for long time exposure but can't work wonders. The white pixels effect is not influenced by this.

Hi Nomad,

In RedCine, what is the control name for full debayer ?

I must admit that i never had image problem though.

thanks

Antoine

In REDCine it's "Process: Full".

No, there's no simple rule, but I'm quite happy with Half (High) from RR for most things HDTV if the scene was well lit. I've never seen such white pixels with standard exposure.

Thank you Nomad, hot pixels as long exposure times have been a problem for us. Appreciate you input very much.
