Got a question about the ability to work with QT files generated by RED camera. On the RED website is a program called “Myth Busters”, showing how to edit in FCP using QT files generated from a RED camera. A high res QT file is dropped directly onto the timeline of FCP and from what I can see, cuts are made. All this is done without rendering. What I don’t see is any effects or titles added to these cuts. When I’ve attempted this I find that I can cut the QT file, however, if I apply an effect or title between or onto the clips I cannot render them out or even see them. I’m assuming that that leaves me with only a straight cut production. Is there anyway to apply effects and titles to this footage to create a finished cut? If so, is there anyway of generating a finished production from this cut?

hey man, what machine are you cutting on? I've edited quite a few projects shot on RED and sometimes I've edited only from the high proxies. Color Corrected them and added titles and everything.
