Hey Guys,

Just got my Red One!! I've been fooling around with some footage and Redcine. I've looked around but am still trying to find the best workflow. Is there any way to do a basic grade in RedCine then bring proxies into FCP?

Or what is the best workflow everyone is using. I tried using Redtrip but I was unable to get it to work... keep getting errors.

Thanks in advance,

Chris

Use REDAlert, do some corrections, make QTs and use them in FCP. Very fast!

In Red Alert can you choose which part of a shot you want to make into a quicktime? For instance if I have a 10 minute interview and I only want to use 30 seconds of it, can I choose in and out points before transcoding? Can I do this in RECINE or REDRUSHES too transcoding to Pro Res?

You can do it in RedCine and Red Alert

Thanks for the info... a few more questions.

I've played around with Red Alert, but I seem to have better luck grading with RedCine... Is there any way to export "looks" from Redcine to RedAlert? Also, is there any sort of way to grade clips in batches in RedAlert? The paste to all function in RedCine is really helpful....

So anyways, thanks for the help... I take it there is no way to grade first in RedCine then bring into FCP(without rendering out new files).

That's supposedly in the works, but who knows when it will be done. It will be an LUT format that can migrate between Redcine, Red Alert, Red rushes, and in camera.
