WTF, those were some really cool shots in there. I have yet to get into shooting star timelapse. Are you using the 20Da for those shots or have you moved on to something better. I'm just still hooked on doing cities and some nature stuff. Mainly with clouds at night and stuff like that.

That tracking shot that went with the rotation of the stars was awesome.

Drew, thanks, all shot on my 350D, with the Mumford stepper-motor moco panning head for some shots. I'm going to get the 5Dm2, I think, and start building a serious multi-axis moco rig in the next 30 days. Then spend the winter shooting in Arizona, New Mexico, Death Valley, Southern Utah, etc.

I really need to add some urban stuff to my stock footage. I think the main thing holding me back is the fact that I cannot sit back and drink beer after I get my camera set up in a city... :)

Holy jeeebus, Tom. That's some nice stuff. :)

Believe me man, when your down in some parts of the city you don't really want a beer. The game when your down in the nasty parts is called "Threat Assessment".

I have plans to also get some shot in Arizona and Zion Park in the next couple months.

Ah, so that's what the G19 is for. :gun:

Bingo. I hope I never have to use it or even pull it out. But there have been sometimes that I got really close. Down in Hollywood at 5 in the morning isn't as safe as you would think it to be.

Tom, that footage is truly awesome--awe-inspiring! Watching the plane of the Milky Way move across the sky really is amazingly beautiful and incredibly humbling. I could watch that stuff forever and your music choices really complement the imagery. Thanks for sharing this TL footage with us and I'll gladly be your first customer when you release your first DVD!

Cheers,

Thanx again Tom.
Awesome again.

DAMN! I wanted to cheer after watching that. Tom's stuff is the shit.

Where is the music from? I was totally into it.

That song is called "Ritual" by Immediate Music. I think it's trailer music - meaning that it was composed and recorded specifically to sell to Hollywood for trailers. It was used in Terrence Malick's The New World theatrical trailer, which is how I came across it.

Cool, I thought it sounded familiar; it was perfect for this. So powerful, and humbling at the same time with the epic visuals.

Loved Tom, great JOB, as usual, I particularly like the Dead tree shots against the fast moving clouds, love the amount of detail and color range from the tree, clouds and sky composition, also very dramatic your choice of composition and perspective of how you positioned the camera in distance relation with it, again loved!

Great choice on the Music as ell, very E ... motional, currently looking for similar tonalities with Vocals for my first Film " UNCONDITIONAL".

ciao
