  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Sometimes defaults work well

DP - Matt Garrett
makeup - Masaru Kuwashita
actress - Kyoko Nakamura
grip / gaffer / Matt's only help ;) - Jonathan Mark
Red package rental - Sam Druckerman (http://www.red4kla.com/)
directed and produced by Bruce Allen and Sayaka Kunii

Sayaka and I are immensely thankful to our very talented cast and crew for making us forget we had no time and no money ;)

Matt, thanks for pulling off shot after cool shot with a minimal lighting package and minimal crew, in very little time. You know your craft (and the RED camera) inside-out...

Anyway, back to work now. If only I had an easier way to sort through all 430 frikkin' clips in RedCine. I'd kill for a "small thumbnails" button in the Library. Or a scrolling player timeline.

BTW, I was just beginning 1-light CC for the other shots, hence the lack of consistency across the interior thumbnails in the timeline. Everything matches very well in raw form.

Defaults

Defaults

99% of the time I use the defaults, spend my on set time with lighting and story and color time the edited picture afterwards. I also go for a solid histogram (about 200-250 ASA), watching the highlights of course. I guess I am old school.

Great looking shots!

Thanks Rowland!

Yeah, looks nice! PC version please! If I bought a Mac, I couldn't have afforded to make this film. Seriously, that's how tight the budget was. I'm running RedCine and Avid off a $500 PC I bought on Craigslist.

Surely RedCine should be able to handle just a little indie short film? Anyway, looks like I'm going to find out ;)

Looks nice Bruce.

Find somebody with a Mac and finish that in FCP like most of us.

Any extremism in that situation doesn't bring help to the project.

About PC, Avid and Craigslist I would not make any comment.

Btw, you know my opinion about that.

That's one of the promises of the REDvolution that has really been delivered. You can go shoot something really nice with very little money if you've got a little light and interesting locations.

Congrats!!

I am very happy about what we got. Thank you, wonderful crew and cast.

Bruce, sorry. I made you do all the difficult things.

Oh man, I can't wait to see this. Glad things went well for you guys.

Tom-san, thank you for a nice message.
I am not the thread owner, but I wanted to say thank you (#-_-#)

Wow, very nice Bruce and Sayaka!

And props to Matt and Sam as well!

Bruce, is this the script you've been working on?

Anyway, congrats to you and all involved... you show what can be done to the rest of us hoping to follow a similar model.
