Had a problem last week with the HDMI out of the red one. Sometimes the connected HDMI monitor was working, sometimes not. There was no pattern i could recognize why the HDMI out worked and why not - sometimes i worked right from the beginning (booting camera), sometimes i had to disconnect the LCD and / or EVF, sometimes i didn't work at all.

anyone else?

RED ONE with Build 16, LCD and EVF - powered from batteries.
Monitor Out 720p
HDMI Cable length: 8m (something like 20 ft)

regards,
martin

did you try different cables?

wow, this is fast!

yes, i tried a 5m and a 8m cable.

I am also having a problem with no output from HDMI.

My system is:
RED ONE with Build 16, LCD only (no EVF)
Monitor Out 720p
HDMI Cable length: about 6 ft

The cable is fine. Works with other HDMI equipment.

Trying plugging and unplugging. Still nothing.

Which monitor are you using?

Which monitor are you using?

Panasonic 42" Plasma HDTV.

Some people have said that Red does not work with HDTV but only with computer monitors.

However the manual for build 16 says in the section PREVIEW "a 1280 x 720 pixel video signal ... The HDMI output is compatible with 720p HDTV monitors."
and
"a 1280 x 848 pixel output ...is not compatible with HDMI equipped 720p HDTV displays."

This is consistent with the later section HDMI "This output
provides a HDTV compatible 1280 x 720p or DVI / SXGA compatible 1280 x 848p signal."

So how do I ensure that the output is 720p and not 848p ?
Is this just by switching MONITOR / PREVIEW between VIDEO(720p) / MENUS(DVI) ?
