Focus distance metric/imperial

I have bought the metric 18-50 Red lens.

But the onscreen info shows the focus distance in feet and inches. And it is wrong.

Can this be fixed?

I have bought the metric 18-50 Red lens.

But the onscreen info shows the focus distance in feet and inches.

If you have an S4/i equipped lens, the lens can report either feet or inches.

As explained in the release notes, the distance read out is limited to feet in Build 17.

I am using Build 16, not 17, but I assume the same limitation applies. So that answers my question as to why it displays in feet.

But the other part of my question is why the distance is wrong.
For example, when the lens was focussed to about 1m, the display said 17 feet.
