We did some shots in a helicopter this afternoon, and had the drive mounted to the cradle and didn't go to CF unfortunately. The operator believed that there wouldn't be issues with dropped frames...

We had a ton of dropped frames when we checked the drive after we landed. The footage would play back in camera, but now we cant get the drive to mount on the computer... We've tried fire wire 800, 400, still no luck. Any advice?

You can try a trick I used and it made the drive mount, it may not work if it can't even find the device.

Open Terminal:

Type: diskutil list

Look for the RedDrive, and find the Disk Name ie: Disk0s1 or Disk1s3

Then type: diskutil mount disk1s2

Hope the best! And Wait for minute,

Okay, I tried opening terminal, it didn't recognize the drive... But thank you x86box. That would have been awesome if it worked.

Kinobairn, I will try USB!

The footage plays back in camera when we remount the drive.

Sorry, I posted this in the wrong thread, could it get moved to Bugs/Problems/Help please. My bad, sorry.

Did you use the power cable for the drive or rely on bus power? If you haven't used the power cable, definitely try it.

I've used the power cable, normally I don't, but since It wouldn't mount I went ahead and used the power cable.

I can hear the drive spinning, its just not being recognized by 800, 400, or USB. I can remount it to the camera and play back clips fine.

Does the drive show up at all in Disk Utility?
Can you check it on a PC via USB?

It sounds like something got damaged on the drive. Probably best to contact support also.
