I´m going to Iceland tomorrow for a shooting until Wednesday next week (17th Oct.) I wonder if anyone there has a Red and accessories in case anything goes wrong.

Please PM me or post here.

thanks
Manuel

Manuel,

You will love Iceland - what a phantastic place (and what crap business investors, shame how much pain they brought upon this country.)

Anyway, a special Google (http://www.google.no/search?hl=no&c...=+site:www.reduser.net+reduser+red+in+iceland) shows there is at least one Icelandig RED: http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=10930

BTW, here is a nice list of helpful REDowners across the globe: http://www.reduser.net/forum/showpost.php?p=191771&postcount=80

Hi Martin, thanks for the link, just send Elvar a message.

Yeah it´s a great country and amazing landscapes, my brother in Law lives there and I´ve been there before , again it´s really amazing.

Yeah it´s really a shame what happened there, the currency exchange dropped 50% ! within a day from yesterday to today :(

I never been on Iceland but know some music, video and films with Björk Gudmundsdottir that is Iceland's most famous pop personality.

Hey guys, thanks for all your help, Elvar got in touch with me and also Olafur. I feel pretty pampered now :)

Thanks for this great community.

I´ve been to Iceland a few years ago and was blown away by the beautiful Landscapes there. Some samples are attached.

Large parts of Flags of our Fathers and James Bond, the one with Hale Barry and Pierce Brosnan was shot there as well.

If somebody wants to shoot a kind of "Lord of the Rings" style film in Europe, well Iceland is the place to go.

Hope they recover fast from there present econmical suffering.

Such an unfortunate turn of events in Iceland, but I suppose it will attract a huge number of North American films to shoot there, since the dollar will go far at the moment (I hate to sound opportunistic...especially because I'm half-Icelandic myself). The crash of the Icelandic currency will probably attract a lot of production, which will in turn contribute to improving Iceland's economy again.

Will do when i return, cross your fingers that the weather will be good with us !

regards from Iceland

I'd seriously love to see some 4K footage shot from basically water level of those steaming "blue lakes." I have always wanted to travel there.

Actually this gives me an idea for a Viagra spec commercial... hmmmm...

Aerials

Aerials

If you need to shoot any aerials in Iceland, we have a Libra Head in Germany with helicopter mounts. We recently were filming in Iceland for Imax, using the Libra Head. We also have a contact for a very good pilot there as well.

Don't know if it's true, but I heard that the vikings named Iceland and Greenland purposely wrong, to make people stay away from the beautiful nature. (Iceland is green and Greenland is ice).

Shooting is done in Iceland, we did suffer a bit from the weather, the sun just didn´t want to come out too often, but in general we got good results.
I will post some stills and footage after clearance from the Client.

Red worked flawlessly, no matter if cold, wet or stormy (we had a snowstorm on the last location on the last shooting day) and we were on Build 17.

Thanks for everyone who offered his help if something would have gone wrong.

best
Manuel
