I'm a rather small person (in all reviews it came through that the biggest model is nothing for me). I like to get a DSRL backpack. To be future proof I like to get one that holds a mac book, rather 15" because of weight, camerabody with up to 5 Lenses possibly one or two flashes, tripod.

Unfortunately I live in a place I can't see them in person. This is what comes to my mind:

Vertex 200 AW (300 would be to big for me I guess).
CompuTrekker AW
Kata R-103 GDC

I like the way this backpacks store the equipment.

The Vertex looks a bit more like hiking and is very heavy, even the 200 AW, which is not my need.

Suggestions?

The Vertex is great. I use the 300 AW for both DSLR and RED ONE. Comfortable, sturdy, comes with an all weather cover and meets current FAA requirements for carry on bags.

The Tamracs are great, but also you should consider the Kata line, the link below shows what I use with my 1Ds III and I have carried even the EF 200mm f/2.0L IS lens in it, that say at lot, the bag is great, and I'm also a small guy:)

Thanks Ketch, I definitely look at the Kata R-103 GDC. I like the approach of this company. Looks organic and copied from animals.

The T-214 is a great on the streets lite shoulder pack very versatile, I also owned the HB-207, fantastic pack, but it turned out just a bit too big for me, so went back to the Lowepro , the 103, and 106 are good packs, but as I need space for a 17" the 103 was excluded and I liked the 207 design better theen the 106, but at the end they were both a bit big.

Muroshi, I used to own a Kata R-103 and found it to be very flexible and comfortable, too. A friend of mine got one of the Tamrac Expeditions, like Tom suggests, and I found it to be a worthy candidate.

These days, however, I'm drifting towards the Think Tank product line:

Decisions, decisions...

Good luck!

I use tactical weapon dry-bag :matrix:

Perfet for amphibian entry/exit to some of my favourite locations in big seas and on the boat. On the last trip our Zodiac was covered with a 2m wave and filled with sea water to the rim, like a spa. I had Red One on the floor, Master Primes, and other goodies. It was good fun...:)

Hi Guys,

We stock several different models of Kata Bags. If there's a model you want that we don't stock, or don't have in stock, we can certainly order anything they make.

The Kata Bags we stock can be found on our website here: http://www.filmtools.com/kata.html

That is just what we keep in the store, but as I said, we can order anything they make.

If you would like a price quote, or shipping quote, or both on a bag that you don't see on our site, send me an e-mail and I'll write one up for you.
