since the 1st day i updated to the new qt plug in.

and i experimented editing directly with the red proxies...._p.mov and _m.mov

clips that are around 5 minutes etc.

I have to say it works pretty well.

i have a 2h50 min. timeline and everything is smooth.

no crashes, no jaggies,no green quicktimes no nothing on a 8core.

on a mbpro feeded through an esata drive i have the same perfomance with _p.mov files.

i am really happy, because right now i get more and more confident without transcoding for quick onset editing to check pace mood etc.

Nobody really talked about it.
Am i the only one happy?

specs:

software is same on both systems

No, you're not the only one.

There used to be occasional crashes in my application Clipfinder, particularly when playing back clips at high resolution ("_F") or when opening clips shot with Build 15. I also installed version 3.5 almost immediately after it was released and haven't seen a problem since. I have heard the same from another user.

Cheers,
Hans

Rob improved a ton of things on various levels. :)

For what it's worth, I did find a small problem today. For 3 or 4 out of 200 clips I shot with build 15, it took excessively long to open the reference file ( 20 - 30 seconds). I have been able to fix the problem by letting REDRushes re-generate the reference files for all clips.

Cheers,
Hans
