Oh ... you mean they will rent the "so-called “4K camera” that has an imager with only 8 or 10 million photo sites but outputs 25 or 32 megapixels is interpolating data without adding any image performance."

Funny how things change ... I can't wait for the press release!!

I was at Panavision for a shoot recently, and they mentioned they had a PV mount for the RED designed. Said it would be out in a couple of months.

Soderberg used PV lenses. But that doesn't mean it is a mount available to the world at large.

Yep, the P&S Technic IMS has a Panavision adapter. Starting to make progress with the warranty issue. For about $2000, you can have PL, PV, Canon and Nikon, all at the same time.

I seriously doubt panavision is going to let anyone just rent lenses. I think you'll have to rent at least one red package from them to get the lenses, once they decide to.

Looks like at least one Panavision rental house is gearing up with a Panavised Red....

It's the ET.
BTW, I think what Rodney Charters actually said was that he heard that PV was making mounts for their cameras, not that he had used that combo yet.
I think it's great to have that option, and I'm sure PV will rent lens sets only (unless things get really busy)
Let's keep in mind they have made some of the most beautiful optics in the world...
