  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED ONE Upgrade Program

You will get an email from upgrades - at - red - dot - com when your serial number batch is up for upgrade, yes.

when will Red Europe open, i'd rather drive for half an hour to Pinewood to drop my camera off than have to deal with Fed Ex.
 
At the onset of the upgrade program, RED EUROPE will not be set up for in-person dropoffs but will eventually be so.

Any estimates about when will the in-person dropoffs be possible?

A fast trip to England to upgrade the cam and visit the 007 stage sounds great!

Yes, we have expanded the program from "just" audio board swap and i/pin install to a host of other stuff: tuneup, lens firmware update, BATTERY PLATE update, etc so a five day processing time is what we are estimating. If it is done sooner, we will let you know.

As soon as we get the customer-facing portion of the facility all set, we'll allow them. We will let you know in the email you get announcing your group is up if it is ready by that time.

I have lucky and got my camera upgraded from Red about a month ago. We were shooting last week a feature with two reds, one upgraded, mine, and one not upgraded yet... The difference in sound quality is amazing. I dare to say that the new audio board is great... clear noiseless sound... If the mini XLRs were not a pain! Channel 2 is still stuck inside.

Hi Panos

What camera number do you have?. I´m trying to figure out how fare camera 0229 is from getting the upgrade. My channel 2 is also stuck with the mini-xlr. I don´t want to sent the camera all the way to USA to get it fixed and then send it back again when I'm the chosen one in the upgrade-que.
