hi from France,
is a Lexar 16GB UDMA 300x CompactFlash Card (transfer rate 45MB/sec) works with a red ?

thanks,
do you recomand REDcards exclusively or other brands could work?

I've seen the 8GB Lexar UDMA 300X work fine, Until its tested I don't know. It would seem likely though.

I've heard that Red are using more pins in their module than in other devices for digital photo for ex.
what do you know about that

Other brands can work, but if you need a guaranteed result, then choosing RED branded CF cards is the best option.

This is because RED branded CF cards have been verified for appropriate record speeds.

I was camera operating for a commercial using equipment from another rental house the agency booked...they used lexar 8gb cards. I noticed that lexar 8gb cards have slower slomo speeds at 2k than the red branded card.

I thing they use B17 .

* Non-speed verified CF cards permitted to record at 2K RAW resolution.

You can't use 16Gb cards yet. Red will release, and send you, a small piece to insert/change in your CF Card Module as soon as they release the cards. At the moment, the camera can't read ANY 16Gb card. It needs to be upgraded to accept the pins and all... It's a modification, you can (will) do yourself, unmounting and remounting the CF Module using a simple Allen key. Stick to REDs cards. They are certified and work. That's my advice for what it's worth...
Best regards,

thanks everyone for infos
it just confirms that you guys are more in a share mood than we are here in old europe

on the french forum, just have a look, the last post was on early september
473 persons read my post but not a single reply

Which french forum? The french thread here on Reduser or another forum like Made In Red? Nevertheless, I don't think it's a French thing, it's in my opinion because people are mostly subscribed via RSS on this very thread (RED ONE - General, News, etc.) and receive all the posts here in real time in their mailboxes. The other threads are not that way. If no one looks, no one knows what's going on there... Post here for a quick reply.

A french Red guy ;)
