I need websites for used cars in LA

Hi all

I am looking to buy a used vehicle in LA this Fall/winter. I have checked kijiji but because I do not live in LA so I do not know of the best publications / websites to search and find a used vehicle.

Any advice on the best place to look with website links would be very appreciated.

Most of the time, the best deals can be found on craigslist.com. If you want a broader market, check out cars.com. Or, ebay has a good selection of cars in the LA area that can be had for far less than the dealer price.

My wife and I have bought our past 3 cars using Carpoint, which has now become: http://autos.msn.com

We compared several sites - craiglist, e-bay, etc. - and always came back to Carpoint because it was easier to get information, and had the same if not better deals.

Craigslist is actually expensive for cars.

Autotrader and cars.com and any other major national used auto listing is going to be your best bet in LA. Don't rule out CarMax... I got a 2006 Prius 6 months ago for less than anyone was asking on the other used sites.

What kind of vehicle are you looking to purchase?

vehicle 1.
Under 30,000 miles 05 or newer 4x4 desiel 3/4 ton or 1 ton quad cab truck. GM 1st, Ford 2nd and Dodge 3rd.

vehicle 2
Low mileage 04 or newer luxury car.


Bargain price is my main goal for both vehicles. The combination of mortgage melt down and stock market crash sets up big fire sales and generally vehicles are the first on the chopping block when it comes to cleaning house.

I agree with Tom, Auto Trader is the way to go for used automobile purchases in LA, IMHO.

autotrader.com
