  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED 4300 is ready to ship

Quiet? More like all going according to plan :) . Second email going out tomorrow for #3401-#4300. Then, yeah, the storm!

Anyway, does anyone know what the difference between the batteries 401001S and 401001 are? Suddenly I have 2 different types showing up in my inventory...

And what is the miniXLR adaptor doing? Why would I use that over the miniXLR to XLR cable?
 
Well Martin, im excited was just writing a few emails to actors, cant wait for this thing to ship and arrive so i can go out and film with it.

Don't know why the 2 different codes, same here.

Got the email from Randy too, but i paid my invoice this morning and got hit hard by the exchange rate - but its going to be worth it.

I, too, am very excited to get my new camera. I've been quite only becuase with the new shipping schedule, I'm looking at almost a month of lost time and I'm scrambling to finish my pre-shipping list of things to do/books to read.

So far, so good.
 
401001 and 401001S are both a RED BRICK, just a different part number.

Since these cameras will have the new audio board, you should be looking at mini-XLR to mini-XLR cables and a mini-XLR to XLR adaptor. The mini-XLR to XLR adaptor cable is only for use with the prior gen audio board. I know it may seem confusing, but your BOMB SQUAD rep can make sure you get the right cable based on your cameras ship date.

Brent do we get the new XLR cables with the cameras shipping now? So they will only be mini to mini? Is there an adapter with it or is that something we have to get separate from you or third party?

P.S. You have just reminded me i haven't ordered spare cables completely forgot - & i paid this morning - i'll wait for a few days till its here to order them . . . but doh.

Cameras shipping now come with the correct cable and adaptor for the new audio board, yup. Those will be back in the RED online store soon but your BOMB SQUAD rep can add those on, no problem.

Okay that's cool. Can you tell me which ends are on the adapter and cable? ie: male mini to female full xlr? or the other way round, i was googling them like hell last night and would like to get some more over here in the UK - will save me exchange rate and bothering Randy again lol.
