We are pleased to announce that Sanctuary, the first television series in North America to exclusively use the RED camera airs tonight on SCI FI channel in the US - and on Movie Central, The Movie Network, and ITV around the world. Sanctuary was shot entirely on three RED One's supplied by Inspired Cinema, with full production & post-workflow support in partnership with Anthem Visual FX.

You can check out some behind the scenes and preview material on Scifi's website: http://www.scifi.com/sanctuary/ as well as responses to working with camera from Lee Wilson and David Geddes on our Projects Page.

We're proud of the cast & crew and everyone who helped make this happen!

- Trevor.

We had a small RED Team together and just watched it.. good work guys, looked great.

Loved it! Loved the story; Loved the images; Amazed by the VFX work.

Great stuff Trevor, Congratulations!

We would love to learn about your work-flow and shooting techniques.

Dave

really top notch guys, well done.

Trevor, there are early webisodes that were shot with an HVX/Mini35 combo, I believe. I bought webisode 1 probably 9 months ago.

From my checking of what I Tivo'd last night vs. that episode I bought a while back, what was aired last night included material that was reshot with the Red.

Yes, as far as I know, the webisode content was completely re-shot on the RED. The higher quality of the image and the ease of keying made it worth it to the producers.

Oh I can't believe I missed this.

Just watching this on ITV4 in the UK (monday nights at 21:00) and was glad to see how well it stood up to a lot of other American tv drama shot on 35mm. In particular I could swear the close-ups look perceivably sharper and more detailed (even on my SD CRT) than most stuff I see. Congratulations again - I think it's a great advert for Red (and a first of course...)

Okay, I managed to catch the tail-end of the repeat of the pilot the other night and in HD no less. Some shots definitely had a little bit of that RED look that snuck past the heavy post manipulation but for the most part, I couldn't really tell it was RED unless I was looking closely for specific things though the clarity and sharpness I saw was awesome to say the least. The only thing that I didn't really like was some of the VFX work I managed to see. Namely some of the synthetic environment shots that looked a little bit too synthetic but at this stage, it's just growing pains.
