I realize even though we are all "friends" in here that on some level we might be in competition with each other but recently it has been suggested to me that I list on onestopred.com as both a DP *and* a Rental Company in NY even though I am in Paris. What I'm saying is of course that I would fly out to NY for the right price. Is this unethical in anyone's opinion?

If someone wants to you to fly from Paris to NY, then I say more power to you!

The ethics question would happen at the terminal at JFK. Customs agent to passenger" Good afternoon...Why are you traveling to the US today?" I think if you have all your work permits (if needed) good to go than it should be a simple answer. More power to you if you can get a production company to fly you to New York for a job. That how it seems to me. Although the times I have worked in Europe I have been working for a US Production Company.

Listing one the site

Personally I only list myself as willing to work someplace if I'm willing to cover my own costs to work there so I'm still working as a "Local". For instance I have a place in Boston, a place in Orlando, and a place in Baton Rouge... Anywhere else I would even think about listing myself and even in those places I tell them I can work local but I live in NY.

As for the site... someone added my company, Barnstormer Films, without even asking us. While I don't have a problem being listed, I would like to know who is running the site and at least get a message saying "we/I would like to list on this site if there is a problem please let us/me know".

Sincerely,
Marque DeWinter

I got added too.
Which was nice!

Although, I'd like to see the email addresses listed with spam protection.
At the moment they are simply html code (and therefore wide open to spambots), I'd like to see some Java script solution implemented like here

Thanks, that helps. I'm listing with them :)

Marque - it's possible that this fellow [ LINK ] is running it. Four, arguably five, of his nine posts mention the site, and the domain was registered on 9/8/2008, about a week after he joined Reduser. Also, the site charges $80-130 to be listed. (Except for you lucky fellows.)

Or maybe I'm seeing patterns where none exist. If so, I apologize. But it smells like astroturf to me. :whistling:

Your apology is accepted. I don't run any websites.
