Hi everybody, you sure can help... While I found it easy to assign side userkeys to whatever functions available, I find it impossible to change functions assigned to rear userkeys... changed them once, no way I figured to change them again.. I'm just trying to have two of these rear keys assigned to zebra (off/on), zebra 2 (off/on). I'm given that choice in the corresponding menus. However, no way... Very practical setting for me, and I miss it. Any clue for the dumb guy with the (very) dumb question ?

thanks, michael and matthew for caring to answer. The
solution you suggest (i.e, pressing the chosen button after selecting a menu)
does work and assign a specific menu/submenu. Trouble is, this shortcut is not quite short enough, and I'd like to turn zebra 1 (or 2, depending on the button) on/off in one single operation. I read in the operation guide I can do this by selecting the system menu/setup /preferences/userkey... each user key offering various possibilities (including zebra 1 or 2) you just have to select by rotating the joystick. This procedure works very well with user key 1 and 2 (side buttons), but doesn't work at all with the back buttons :-(

thats the way it is.
If you have an EVF you have 2 more assignable buttons , and with build 17 you can assign the button on the LCD as well.
