When the /i pins will be installed, will there be no harm in using lenses that have no /i pins ?
No danger of an unwanted electric contact ?
Forgive my ignorance, so far, my use of these pins is limited to canon photo lenses and bodies.
With a PL mount, I wonder ?
Has anybody a clear view on this ?
Thank you.

A friend of mine just received his Red and 18-50 recently. Yesterday whilst checking it out, we noticed lens data being displayed in the EVF and LCD. Data changed as we zoomed and racked focus also. I guess that means I - data enabled for whatever lenses support it.

This is great, it is made for this use, now what happens if you use a lens without contacts ?
Will the metal of a "regular Pl mount" ( no pins) make unwanted contact ?
That was the meaning of my question.

Are you on B17? If so use the menu to enable the function.
