This is for RED #1238 (undelivered, and will be brand new) which needs the funds to go in by the end of this month with a delivery date of "No Later than November 1, 2008", according to the e-mail I received from RED.

I am basically looking for about $1,500 (or a little over if there is a higher offer) over the cost of a new RED. But this means you will get the camera months ahead. Please PM with your offer, and the first person that has the money in the bank and is a reliable communicator will take the reservation.

One other thing, I am a early reservation holder, so I actually get an additional $2,500 credit for purchases of RED accessories (Red power pack, base production pack, CF module, LCD, EVF, etc) so I will need the buyer to purchase at least $2,500 of additional accessories at the time of purchase, in addition to the RED ONE body. But honestly, there is no way to use the camera without purchasing at least this amount in accessories (batteries, CF module, LCD, etc), so this seems reasonable.

So to summarize:

Your cost: $17,500 (RED ONE body); + $2,500 in accessories + $1,500 premium = $21,500

Also be prepared to look into the cost of transferring the warranty, which I believe to be $500 according to a post I saw on the board. So that would make a grand total of $22,000 you should have ready to go.

I hate to let my RED reservation go, but I have spent a lot on Super16mm and 35mm equipment this last year and need to hold off on purchases for a bit.

One other thing, I think it make the most sense for this to be a buyer from the United States only (I am in Orange County, California by the way), especially with the time frame we are dealing with.

Thanks for looking! And remember, we need to move fast!!! We need to have all our ducks in a row by the end of the month...

Please PM me if you are serious and we can go from there. I will be out the rest of the night, but will check my messages tomorrow morning after 9:30 a.m. PST.

Regards,
Todd

P.S. And if you like, you are welcome to go to ebay and check my 100% feedback there for some sort of validation on my reliability. My user name is 'avisual'.

the one year warranty does NOT transfer ... if they pay 500 they get a 90 day warranty ...

Thanks for the information on the warranty transfer, Donatello. I appreciate the clarification.

Best,
Todd

I'm trying to get some more information on the warranty transfer information. Someone else has stated that $750 transfers the full one year warranty on a new camera. I'm looking into that.

Todd

i just looked into it this past Monday for Red 1051 = 90 days ..
just to let you know -i had $$ balance sitting at Red to cover the total cost, it was shipped out yesterday - so once the $$ clear they ship
