Charger firmware upgrade

I see in the charger manual on red.com/support that the chargers have had their firmware updated to v1.4. It appears to take care of hot battery issue where batteries fresh off the camera would not be charged by the charger.

Is it possible to upgrade the firmware on older chargers? If not, can they be exchanged for the new model?

Updating the firmware is possible, but it would require return of the charger to RED for an E-PROM replacement. If you are interested in that, please contact our service team to get a cost estimate.

Is it possible to ship the charger with the camera when it is getting the new audio boards? And is it confirmed this takes care of the red-light-when-battery-hot problem?
