What SAS systems are being used out there. I'm looking to configure a Mac Pro for 4k and would like some advice.

There are various SAS options for the Mac, but which one will depend on your needs.

If you're looking for fast storage without breaking the bank, take a look at CalDigit. It's not full SAS, but their new RAID card is smokin! Combine that with a few HDPro systems and you'll be able to serve up plenty of storage for editing a couple features shot in 4K.

CalDigit HDPro 8HDD Bays drive array
8TB configuaration (8HDDx1TB) $8,649.95 (B&H price)
387,5 MB/s average Read/Write speed. (Aja kona system test)

Ciprico MediaVault 5116 RAID System 16 HDD Bays (no drives) $3766.00 (Macgurus Price)
16 HDD (HE103UJ Samsung Spinpoint F1 RAID Class 1TB) $138 each (OWC Price) $2200 total
Complete 16TB System $5966

Ciprico offers twice the performance for $2683 less...
