I have downloaded and installed the latest REDCINE and have not been able to even open it yet. When I start it up, the icon appears for a brief second, then it crashes. I am on OSX leopard, 2.5ghz macbook pro, 512mb video card. Any suggestions?? Thanks..

I had same problem. make sure to install while logged in to the admin account. I had created a couple different user accounts for my computer. I never login to my administrator account and would use one of the other user accounts.
All other applications installed no problem when asked for a admin user name and password. However, when installing redcine it never asked for a admin user name and password thus causing the startup problem.

When I tried installing from my admin account everything worked fine. Hope that helps.

I did install it on my admin account (only account setup) on my computer and still cannot open.. I did not ask me for a password when installing. How do I delete everything and re install... I've only tried deleting the application file... Are there more hidden files I need to delete.. thanks for the help btw

because you are on the admin account it won't ask for a username and password, so nothing unusual there.

There may be a redcine folder in hard drive>Library that you should delete. However, when I was having the startup problem like you are now, there was no Redcine folder to delete.

here is a link to a similar situation with some possible solutions: http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=15972

Nope still nothing.. no folder in my library on my main hd, and read those posts with no solution....

I had the same issue. Try updating your system to the most recent version.

Ok, I think I may have found a work around for this...at least for me it worked. I had just reformated my computer and reinstalled everything. After doing so, Redcine just wouldn't open up. I looked at the log file through the contents of the Redcine app and there was an error saying the Redcine folder in the Library was already created/existing and could not be created. When checking my library, there was nothing there. So I created a Redcine folder on my desktop, and dragged it into the Library. After that, I launched Redcine and it came back to life. Not sure what has changed...maybe an OS X 10.5.5 thing? But this worked for me! Good Luck!
