Size of proxies

Filming on location next week for something with a quick turnaround.
Hoping to send the _s proxy dailies to the editor at the end of each day.

Just wondering what the data rate for these is (can't find it anywhere).

You can't send proxies on their own! Your editor won't see anything without the red footage. Actually, that's why the expression "proxy" is misleading, they are references for an on-the-fly transcode.

You'll need to transcode to any old format you can send around…

If your editor is on Final Cut Pro 6 then use a compressor droplet or Redrushes to transcode your _M reference files to Prores proxies. Then hand off the drive full of Prores.
