Hello

I have one RED drive which will not mount on my on set Mac mini.
We have 6 drives in total and only one which will not mount. It does, however, mount on an off-set Macbook pro.
What can I do? Any suggestions would be welcome.

try plugging in the power adapter when you connect to the mini, need a little bus power to get the drives to mount

hey look post #100!

we had one that didn't mount a couple times, but then worked fine later..

also give it a little time.. but i'd definitely try the power adaptor.

Did you try both firewire and USB? With the power connector?

If that doesn't work, see if it mounts on the camera. It may be slow, but you can transfer footage off the drive by connecting the camera to the computer via USB.

We had one like this, that would mount on the cam but not the mac. I got the data off and send it to RED for repair.

RED Drives have always mounted fine for me without a power adapter on my MacBook Pro on set. Perhaps it outputs more bus current than the Mac Mini does...

mine have always mounted fine too - BUT it does normally take about 20-30 seconds. if you haven't already, try being patient.
