so...

I'll be trying to put together a reel over the next week, and:
THIS IS NOT IT :)

So far I have just categorized some footy, and this is some lowlight stuff.

More to follow later.

The clips aren't finnished by any standard, so this is just a collection of lowlight footy by now... No real CC as of yet. Just quick and dirty.

Comments are still apprechiated, though, and I'll try NOT to be too defensive. :)

Well, for starters, I think there are specifically two shots that are much too short. You definitely should make them much longer... and try to get more angles too. Not sure if you should include these shots in your demo reel, but post them here so we all can review them more thoroughly. :)

My other point is what is your demo reel for and what do you want to say with it?

Aside from that, some of those shots are great. Love the first shot, the elevator shot, and the night city shot (where you can see the entire city and the cars speeding around like little light bugs).

What was the lens and Red settings for this low light stuff?

I agree

I agree

I agree...You could've held on that ass shot all day...BTW...I like the car time-lapse stuff...

the first is cooke spped panchro, the other two are superspeeds, the bottom is ultraprime...

For the other questions... they are good.
For now I just assemble shots in different categories that I've been responsible for and that has been (or will be) released by me...

another bunch of shots

another bunch of shots

I do get the "what do you want do communicate" thingy... :)

Right now, I just want to get some reactions.
So here's another bunch of shots.

The theme in these are slightly different.

Rightclick to download btw...

i like your stuff, so i guess i wanted something to guide how and what i should be looking at. so many ways to say something. i'll just give my initial reaction as a general viewer.

i didn't like the first kissing shot... the guy sort of turned me off (i'm heterosexual and not homophobic, by the way; but a nicer body maybe?) i liked the armor and horses shot and all of your closeup work like the necklace on the chest and the blonde with dark eyeliner (sort of felt like a Guess ad). I liked the color work on the guy with the fur jacket. The concert shots looked pretty standard. maybe make the crowd darker silhouettte (but you already said you didn't do much grading, right?)

the other shots i don't recall very well; which I guess says something, right? they were just ok. but in context, they might be "great".

my favorite stuff was your earlier shots awhile ago of that brunette outside of some building... i think she was on steps at one time... your grading was multi-colored but "greenish" if i recall correctly.

hope this helps.

I also think you do some nice grading. As for the reel building I find a montage of quick shots is OK, but I would also like to see some longer sequences and some matching action.
