I've posted a similar post to Creative Cow. But maybe someone here can help...

Since I upgraded to Leopard a few days ago I've not been able to monitor video in Final Cut Pro using my Multibridge Extreme.

Today I upgraded my Multibridge software to 6.7 (I was running 6.6.2), and still nothing seems to work. I either get an "out of range" or "no sync" message, or just a black screen.

On top of all of this, after upgrading to Multibridge 6.7 I seem to have lost use of Digital Cinema Preview on my 2nd monitor!

FWIW, I'm trying to monitor ProRes 422 (HQ) footage that's 23.98. (It was shot on Red and transcoded to ProRes.) My monitor is a 17" JVC.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Paul

Hi Paul,

I assume you've checked all the output settings? They were probably initialized.

I'm using a MultiBridge Pro using Leopard and monitoring on a 17" JVC as well. No problems here, but I'm using 25FPS.

I'm using ver 6.6.4.

Hi Jim -

Yeah, I've checked all output settings...at least all that I know to check!

I'm on FCP 6.0.4. And Leopard 10.5.4. Is that what you're on as well?

Hey Paul,

I'm on 10.5.4 and FCP 6.0.3, QT 7.4.5.

Maybe try cycling between output and converter mode a couple of times and see if the firmware change clears it?

If that doesn't work, maybe version down to 6.6.4.

Best of luck, let me know how you go.

Cheers,

Jim

I tried 6.6.4.... no dice. I've set the Decklink settings to "When not playing video, send: EXTENDED DESKTOP" and I'm not getting the extended desktop on my JVC. But the displays setting of my Sys Prefs shows a monitor. But my monitor still says, "No Sync." All cables are hooked up, too. Weird.

UPDATE: I'll post something on here in case anyone else has this problem.

A call to tech Blackmagic support led to a resolution: Even though when updating the Blackmagic drivers all it asked to do was a 'restart', I actually needed to do a cold boot (i.e., shut down computer, power down multibridge, power up multibridge, and power up computer).

And, by the way, I'm now running Leopard 10.5.4, FCP 6.0.4, Multibridge 6.7, and QT 7.5.5
