Of those working with it in FCP, does 7.5.5 fix the timeline issues for Redcode proxies, or is it the same?

how is it in after effects? 7.5 would crash AE after a 10 minute render beacause of the drm crap

I think 7.5.5 fixed some buffer issues and it seems playback proxies better than 7.5.

So far it seems to playback longer than one minute 4k files (that R3D spreads over multiple files) without getting the green screen, also 2K proxies plays much better, also 2:1 files displays with correct aspect within 1080 screen (this was happening in some video I/Os).

Proxies offline editing is going to be a lot more reliable with hardware video output now I think.

Quicktime 7.5.5 issue with RED QT proxies

I just upgraded to QT 7.5.5 on my MacBook Pro (Intel) running Leopard 10.5.4. My QT Player Pro is 7.4.1 (16) When I play RED QT proxies, the QT viewer window shrinks as the play progresses. I can stop the shrinking by clicking the scale thingamajig in the lower right corner. Is there a cure?

Anybody tested it? Any issues with Red footage?

Seems wrong that your QT player version is lower than your QT version. Have you checked you haven't somehow got multiple copies of QT player on your system?

So, just so everyone is on the same page about what is working and what isn't, let's get your specs. This will help those who are in post now having to deal with Red footage.

Ideally, only list your specs if you have a setup that is working as close to flawless as possible. This way we can go based on what's working and this will help people setup their Red workflows properly. I'm sure no one has a system that is working perfectly, but the closer the better. This means smooth playback of proxy files, clean exports from Red apps, reliability and repeatability.

There are a lot of moving targets, but it will be good to see what people are having success with. I will build a spreadsheet based on people's responses.

Yes, I found an older version of QT Player in my Applications folder. I deleted it and now the RED QT proxies play fine with the QT Player 7.5.5

Errrr... is it me, or the clips I once encoded as 2K 10 bit uncompressed 4:2:2 QuickTime for testing, which at the time played choppy off my Mac Pro's paltry internal four disc RAID0, are now suddenly playing smoothly? Could it be because of the QT 7.5.5 upgrade???

It can't be... now, could it? Hmmmm... I've got to test this again.
