Clipfinder 2.0: Free Workflow Tool for OS X / FCP

Call for Complaints

Call for Complaints

Clipfinder 2.0 has been downloaded more than 200 times since I released it 2 days ago. I am quite pleased to see it find so many new homes and I very much appreciate the kind words you have found for it.

As was to be expected, there were some problem reports, in particular with respect to the XML import function. This has been adressed in Version 2.0.1.

If any of you are still experiencing problems, can you let me know before I run out of enthusiasm ?

Cheers
Hans

Clipfinder and REDrender

Clipfinder and REDrender

One more thing...

This is a heads up for people who want to use the Automator Action and Conform features in Clipfinder:

I have not been able to get the REDrender action to accept file paths with spaces in them. I realize that that may be entirely my fault. If anyone knows how to make this work, I'd be happy to learn about it.

As it stands, I recommend that people make sure that there are no spaces in their directory names, or else they will not be able to do the roundtripping I have described in the Clipfinder Help.

Cheers
Hans

Look to the future, extend the feature set please.

You are indeed the man!

You want a birger with that ?

Now, seriously: just for the fun of it I tried to compile for OS X 10.4. I got 16 errors and 185 warnings. It would take a while to wade through this. I definitely would have to get rid of NSCollectionView, but I was half planning on doing that anyway for all the grief it has given me.

Who believes it is more important to work on Tiger compatibility than to work on extending the feature set ?

It would be great if I could just drag the files into redrushes and render, I know you have the render plugin, but redrushes is sooooo easy ;)

p.s. I tried and no luck, but for the record I can't drag any files into redrushes from anywhere ;(

this ap is really cool. mahalo

Ditto that. Hans, your program is very useful. Would love to be able to drag the files to RedRushes for render. That will certainly meet our need here - Thanks - Lim

Simple effective useful.
and free?

WOW.

Now if they could just get this to work with RED ALERT
in some fashion that would be a major brake threw.
and or REDCINE.

Just love how useful and simple it works.

Maybe with some in and out points and a way to send to something to render out of
WOW that would be special.

Scott, twlim, BigLu...
Improved rendering support is on my list.
Give me a few weeks.
It'll be easier than REDRushes.

Cheers

Thanks Hans. I am sure you can get some returns for you effort - Lim

I've been beta-testing this tool on our last shoots, and all I can say is that this is an amazing little program. The producers, directors, everybody loves it - the ease of use combined with its power makes it a must-have on every set...

Thank you very much Hans, you'll get another feedback as soon as I'm back from this shoot.

a pdf of the "manual" would be great....or integrating it under help in the program, just to have a quick look in places without internet.

great, finally it works for me.
well done

works on mbp,
doesnt work on imac...
same footage.

Kaya,

Can you post more details, please, e.g.
- doesn't work at all OR which functions do not work OR crash log if it crashes
- iMac model, OS version, amount of RAM, number of processors

I suppose you have installed the RED Quicktime codec ?

If you need it, my mail address is in the Help pages.

Cheers
Hans
